He is a skilled communicator who educates the public about evolving topics in the field of communication, especially social media, as well as being a multimedia storyteller.

Whether in the classroom, on camera, in front of an audience, or in his writing, Chiara draws on his vast experience working in journalism, public relations, and politics.

As an award-winning journalist, Chiara has covered stories for several media outlets in the Hartford area, the most recent being for CT News Junkie. He is also frequently interviewed by news outlets for expert commentary and is a former contributor for The Hill, where he wrote about social media’s impact on politics and media.

Previously, Chiara has done public relations work for Yale University’s Rudd Center (now UConn Rudd Center) and Universal Health Care Foundation. In addition to journalism and public relations, he has a background in politics, public policy, and legislative process from the time he spent managing political campaigns and working at the Connecticut General Assembly.

Chiara earned a master’s degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University and a bachelor’s degree in communication from Central Connecticut State University.
